Kevin Sherman graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School in May 1976. Entered the service through the Army Delayed entry program in March 1976. Reported to Fort Knox, Kentucky on 24 Aug 1976 for Basic training. Upon completion of basic he attended Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) school for 63C US Army Track Vehicle Mechanic. He was assigned to many duty stations while serving in the United States Army.
Kevin joined the American Legion Post in Germany in 2012. He retired as Department of the Army Civilian (DAC) in 2022 and moved to Jacksonville, NC and transferred his membership to post 265. In 2023 he was nominated as Service Officer for post 265 and was elected. Kevin duties include assisting members who qualify to obtain Temporary Financial Assistance when children’s welfare is involved.
Kevin has volunteered for many things at the post and completed the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale course and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training to further assist him in his duties. We take pride in nominating Kevin Sherman as our Veteran of the year from post 265.
