Richard John Potter is a Leader of men; he is respected by all around him both at work and functions he participates in for the community and The American Legion. His devotion to the American Legion has created an inseparable bond with the city of Jacksonville and its surrounding area which has impacted multiple communities within North Carolina. His ability to coordinate functions with multiple organizations such as Motor Cycle clubs , various law enforcements agencies ensuring that the public is aware of the mission of the American Legion and The American Legion Riders program. He was one of many who helped organize the First Annual Veterans Suicide Prevention ride from Fayetteville, NC to Jacksonville NC. He was chairman of the American Legion Riders Chapter 265 2023 poker run and which raised over $5,000.00 for local Veterans organizations. Within the American Legion he can be counted on to be there as a go to person and is always willing to help and mentor anyone. His sacrifice, dedication and hard work have allowed the American Legion and Riders to form a forever bond between all American Legion post within the 6th Distract and the community.
